A Group PRG win 88 – 20
B Group PRG win 106 – 8
The Paul Roos MTB team continued it’s unbeaten run this season against SACS, with the juniors winning 106-8 and seniors beating SACS 88-20.
Despite some of our key riders being absent due to SA XCO champs, the team showed off the excellent depth in Paul Roos by dominating in both the races.
The riders had to overcome freezing and slippery conditions at the UCT XCO circuit, which was short but very punchy with around 50m of climbing in the 1.5km lap. Due to the technical nature of the course and the muddy track, there were quite a few mechanicals and crashes but luckily no one was seriously injured.
In the senior race, Justin Vosloo powered away from the rest of field on the first lap and extended his lead throughout the race to take 1st place, with Albert Muller and Theodore van Wyk in 2nd and 3rd. In the junior race Paul Roos also had a clean sweep of the podium.
The boys are looking forward to building on this success and work towards bigger goals in the near future.
