Race Report
The race at Southy Vines, Somerset West on the 8th of June. It had been raining the night before so the track had a fair amount of mud on it. The track is known for its flowing jumps and continuous single track.
The lap was 2.6 km long with 2 climbs making up 40 meters of vertical ascent per lap.
The first race was the Sub Junior boys. Philip Van Schalkwyk won the race and Vincent Van Rensburg came 5th. 8 out of the top 15 were from Paul Roos. In the Youth 16 race, 5 out of the top 15 were Paul Roosers, including Aidan Penfold in 3rd place. Henning Venter and Kevin De Kock took 2nd and 10th places in the U/15 category respectively. The final race of the day was the Junior men race. Jamie Penfold achieved the 3rd place, whilst we had 7 riders in the top 15 in that category.
All our riders are in good form and will continue training to defend our title at the next Spur race on the 3rd of August at Bloemendal wine farm.
